Agronomy Manager EAEU/CIS

Your role

As an Agronomy Manager EAEU/CIS you lead the agronomical development work and give support to the TKInt fertilizer business in EAEU/CIS (Eurasian Economic Union /Commonwealth of Independent States), in line with the long-term potential/ ambition. You support the commercial strategy and the delivery of sales and margin targets in the region.

Your Key Results

Agronomical responsibilities and support of sales
  • Gather market intelligence to support value proposition & acquire new customers, analyze and understand competitor products and applications
  • Identify/ reinforce value proposition of TKInts fertilizers
  • Manage a program of product field trials in the region to promote the benefits/ value proposition of the product portfolio      
  • Maintain, update and actively utilize a network of technical contacts to promote the technical benefits of the products as to develop sales.
  • Participate in the production of technical & publicity material
  • Provide technical support to customers (i.e., distributors and growers) and other agronomists within TKInt
  • Advise & influence as to grow sales by supporting commercial distributors
  • Ensure best practices for applications of products, including product risk liabilities
  • Ensure proper communication (incl. translations) between regional customers, prospects and partners (speaking Russian and Ukrainian) and TKInt colleagues
  • Member of Tessenderlo Group's AgroNet Community of Practice

  • Prepare annual trial budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions in link with Lead Agronomy Manager
  • Submit periodic reports as required by the hierarchical manager.

    Stakeholder Management
  • Engage actively in relevant industry organizations, cross-functional associations, and seminars/conventions/events that provide education, networking, and lead to more sales.
  • Network and identify potential new prospects and partners in his/her territory, and introduce related opportunities to the BDM/Sales Manager
  • Develop, catalogue and maintain a full archive of technical publications relating to the product portfolio. Make this available to the agronomist population within Tessenderlo Group

Your profile

  • Master's Degree in Agronomy (or a subject relating specifically to the product usage)
  • 3 - 8 years of relevant agronomical experience in fertilizers and/or crop nutrition
  • Fluent knowledge of English, Russian and Ukrainian languages
  • Comfortable working in a matrix organization
  • Good knowledge of nutrition (including drip irrigation, fertigation techniques & foliar application) and of agro-chemistry
  • Experience with broad acre crops and/or cash crops is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of financial concepts
  • Understanding of B-to-B international environment and economical, legal and regulatory aspects
  • Ability to develop deep understanding of market and products from the agronomical viewpoint
  • Entrepreneurial, assuming responsibility for performance, recognizing opportunities and acting efficiently
  • Resilient / highly motivated / strong communication skills
  • Prepared to travel regularly to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and occasionally to other counties, e.g. France & the US (25% to 50% of travel time)
  • Organized, disciplined and fact based decision taking
  • Knowledge of usual software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
